So they want something on Gompertz and mortality modeling with a historical perspective as well. How about I tell my shifting thinking around the Vaupelian school of mortality modeling along the lines of “Gompertz in early life”? From “Law’s of mortality”, to “Mechanisms of mortality”, to “Data over models”, and finally “Model pluralism” as proposed by Thomas Burch. My current mantra: All models are true, some describe your data.
